What is Forensic Accounting?

Forensic accounting utilizes accounting, auditing, and investigative skills to conduct an examination into the finances of an individual or business. Forensic accounting provides an accounting analysis suitable to be used in legal proceedings. Forensic accountants are trained to look beyond the numbers and deal with the business reality of a situation.

Individual Damages & Calculations $225/hr.

Forensic accountants are used in personal injury claims so that they can quantify the economic losses or damage resulting from accidents. If this is your situation, it is important that you have the right lawyers backing you.

In some cases, people will exaggerate their losses in order to try and claim more money. Forensic accountants can provide a more accurate picture of the damages involved so that a more fair settlement is reached.

Business Damages & Calculations $225/hr.

Commercial damages occur in breach-of-contract and business-tort cases that result in claims of lost profits or diminished business goodwill or business value. Intellectual-property-infringement cases and antitrust cases also can involve such loss claims. Damages could be caused by:
  • lost profits analyses related to business interruption claims,
  • construction delays where consequential damages are permitted
  • breach of contract claims.
